When it comes to lighter duty work the electric hedge trimmers are convenient and light to use. Electric hedge trimmers will typically cope with branches of 13 - 20 mm diameter.
Electric hedge trimmers require very little maintenance but are hindered in use by the mains cable and the need for a convenient electricity supply. It is always recommended that an RCD safety device be used with these machines.
If you are looking to cut thicker branches or be more free to roam further with the trimmer, a two-stroke petrol hedge trimmer is probably the better option.
